Who is Darrell Brooks

Darrell Edward Brooks Jr., 40, was found guilty on six charges of first-degree intentional murder and seventy additional counts on October 26, 2022, all of which stemmed from the Waukesha Christmas Parade on November 21, 2021.

Brooks was given six consecutive life sentences for the six persons he murdered when he drove his SUV into the parade on November 16, 2022, by Waukesha County Judge Jennifer Dorow.

Brooks had entered a not guilty plea and was defending himself.

When the march took place, Brooks was free on $1,000 cash bond for charges that had been filed in Milwaukee County back in November.

The mother of Brooks’ kid was allegedly punched and ran over by him.

The prosecutor has said that his decision to set bail so low was incorrect.

Court records show that Brooks’s trial for the associated charges will continue on December 12 before a jury.

Before that, Brooks had a kid with his ex-girlfriend from Milwaukee.

She has expressed her desire for retribution against him for the Waukesha massacre.

“He didn’t seem like he was in his right mind,” she said to WISN 12 over the phone late last year.

She requested anonymity.

She referred to what he did as “He did a monstrous thing,” “Lock him up, beneath the cell, and hang him. I would support the death penalty in the United States.”

The mother claims she has done most of the childrearing without much help from Brooks, but he still has her back “The only time he ever hit me was when I accidentally hit him. But maybe his frequent incarceration prevented him from doing so.”

Dating back to 1999, Brooks’ criminal history is considerable.

Jury finds Darrell Brooks, the alleged Waukesha Parade bomber, guilty on all counts on Day 18 of his trial.

Six charges of first-degree intentional murder have been filed against Darrell Brooks, who is representing himself.

On day 18 of the trial, the jury has been deliberating since receiving the case on Tuesday evening at 6:24. No timeline for a judgment can be provided at this time.

Briefly recapping Day Seventeen: District Attorney Susan Opper presented her closing argument on Tuesday after Judge Jennifer Dorow issued jury instructions. Darrell Brooks then added his two cents. On Tuesday night, the jury deliberated for around 1 hour and 43 minutes before calling it a night.

At 11:40 a.m., a news team from WISN 12 reported hearing honking horns.

At 11:25 a.m., I’ve just received word that a sentence scheduling conference will be held on Monday, January 28 at 1:00 p.m.

At 11:22 a.m., the jury returned their verdict, finding Brooks guilty on all 76 counts. There was a revocation of his bail.

One of the victims’ relatives yelled “Burn in Hell you piece of (expletive).” while the guilty verdicts were being announced at 12:01 a.m. As per Judge Dorow’s instructions, he was led out of the courtroom by security personnel. Not only was he not arrested, but he also did not get a ticket.

Six charges of first-degree intentional murder against Darrell Brooks were found at 10:50 a.m. Dorow is now reading the remaining seventy judgments.

It is now 10:45 AM, and everyone has returned to the courtroom. Darrell Brooks is now dressed in an expensive suit. The number of signed judgments was 76, as verified by Judge Jennifer Dorow. Finally, she started going through the choices.

The queue to enter the courtroom at 10:25 a.m. for the reading of the verdict is rather lengthy.

At 9:43 a.m., the jury in the trial for the assault on the Waukesha Parade has reached a judgment. At 10:45 am, the judges will announce their decisions. Tuesday night and this morning, the jury deliberated for a little under three hours.

The district attorney comments on Brooks’s choice of orange clothing at 8:59 a.m. Sue Opper said that he was provided with streetwear while incarcerated. I made the decision,” Brooks said. “I respect that choice, of course,” Dorow replied. As the jury deliberates, the judge left the bench to return to his or her office.

At 8:56 a.m., Brooks believes the Reddit post raises serious concerns and that the jury should be dismissed or a mistrial declared to safeguard the fairness of the trial. This, according to Brooks, was not a practical joke. Judge Dorow said that she contacted the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office as an extra precaution. She said that nothing could be accepted at face value.

This morning’s court session will continue at 8:30 a.m. Reappearing in orange prison garb, Darrell Brooks has returned. The article on Reddit that we discuss further down was a hoax, according to Judge Jennifer Dorow. Because of the Reddit article, Brooks is considering filing for a mistrial.
