Who is Stefon Diggs?

 

Wide receiver with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League and a member of the Stefon Marsean Diggs family, Stefon Marsean Diggs is known by his full name (NFL). After playing college football at Maryland, the Minnesota Vikings selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He is currently on the team.

Despite being selected in the latter rounds of the draft, Diggs was given the opportunity to start all 16 games for his rookie season with the Vikings. One of the highlights of his career was when he caught the pass that was known as the “Minneapolis Miracle” during the 2017–18 NFL playoffs. He became an integral part of a productive receiving tandem that also included Adam Thielen.

Diggs signed a new five-year contract during the subsequent offseason, ensuring that he would remain with the Vikings for two more years before being sent to Buffalo in 2020. When he joined the Bills, he set a franchise record for receiving yards in a season and became the fastest receiver to reach 100 catches with his new team. He also broke the record that Eric Moulds had previously held. Diggs finished the 2020 NFL season with 127 receptions and 1,535 receiving yards, putting him in first place among all NFL receivers.

Early Years of Stefon Diggs’s Life

The 29th of November, 1993 was the day Stefon was born. He will be 29 years old this year. Diggs had his high school education at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he participated in football and ran track and field.

As a junior in 2010, he finished in second place for Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year after recording 810 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns. He also led the state in receiving touchdowns.

 

As a senior, he racked up 770 yards receiving and 8 touchdowns, as well as 277 yards rushing and three more touchdowns on the ground. He also saw action on defence, where he recorded 31.5 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1 sack.

Following his junior campaign, Diggs made the decision to bypass his final year of eligibility and instead enter the 2015 NFL Draft. In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings chose Diggs in the fifth round with the 146th overall pick. This was their first pick in the wide receiver position.

He agreed to terms that were worth a total of $2.5 million over the course of four years, with a guaranteed signing bonus of $227,000.

Diggs did not participate in any of the Vikings’ first three games of the season because he was inactive. Because of injuries to receivers Charles Johnson and Jarius Wright, he got his first opportunity to play in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos. He responded with six catches on ten targets and a team-high 87 yards in Minnesota’s 23–20 loss at Denver.

 

Diggs finished the 2019 season with 63 receptions, 1,130 receiving yards, and six receiving touchdowns. His receiving yardage was also 1,130.

During the Divisional Round of the playoffs when the Minnesota Vikings faced the San Francisco 49ers, Diggs caught two passes for 57 yards and one touchdown, including a reception for 41 yards. The Vikings were defeated by the 49ers 27–10.

Diggs was dealt to the Buffalo Bills on March 20, 2020, along with the Vikings’ draft pick in the seventh round, in exchange for the Bills’ first (Justin Jefferson), fifth, and sixth round picks in the NFL Draft in 2020, as well as a draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft in the fourth round (Janarius Robinson).

 

Diggs had a successful first game against the Bills, catching 12 passes for 128 yards in a 33-30 overtime loss to the Vikings in week ten. His previous team was the Buffalo Bills.

After that, he would record touchdown receptions in consecutive games, one of which being the game-winning touchdown against the Detroit Lions with less than three minutes left in the game.

After that, on the next drive for Buffalo, he would catch a pass from Josh Allen for 36 yards, which helped set up a game-winning field goal by Tyler Bass. This all took place two and a half minutes later.
