Mac Jones is the nickname of American football quarterback Michael McCorkle Jones, who plays for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He participated in college football at Alabama, where he broke NCAA season records for passer rating and completion percentage as a junior on the Crimson Tide’s way to winning the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship.
During his time at Alabama, the Crimson Tide won the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Jones was chosen by the Patriots in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2021. During his first season with the Patriots, Jones guided the team to a postseason berth and earned Pro Bowl honors.
Early Years of Mac Jones’s Life
The fifth of September, 1998 found Gordon and Holly Jones welcoming their son Michael McCorkle Jones into the world in Jacksonville, Florida. His father competed on the tennis teams at both Flagler College and Florida State University. Will, Mac’s brother, was a student and athlete at Mercer University, while Sarah Jane, Mac’s sister, competed for the College of Charleston in tennis. He had a career as a child model and actor, appearing in several advertisements during that time.
Under the direction of head coach Corky Rogers, Jones participated in his high school football career at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. Jones guided Bolles to the state regional final during his junior season in 2015, while the team was under his leadership. Jones threw for 1,532 yards and 29 touchdowns during his senior season in 2016 when Bolles won the Florida 4A championship behind his leadership.

Jones was elevated to the position of starting quarterback for Alabama when Tua Tagovailoa announced his intention to enter the NFL Draft in 2020. In a game that Alabama played against the Georgia Bulldogs, who were rated third in the nation, he threw for 417 yards and four touchdowns, contributing to the Tide’s victory by a score of 41–24.
On the 31st of October, Jones and the Crimson Tide defeated Mississippi State with a score of 41-0. DeVonta Smith was the recipient of all four of Jones’ touchdown passes, which were completed for a total of 291 yards by Jones.
