Who exactly is Josh Allen?
Joshua American football quarterback Patrick Allen currently plays for the Buffalo Bills, who are a member of the National Football League (NFL). Allen participated in college football at Wyoming, where he was named the most valuable player of a bowl game. The Bills selected Allen with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Allen had a breakout season in 2020, following two years of inconsistent play, when he led the Bills to their first division title and playoff victory since 1995, en route to an appearance in the AFC Championship Game. This was Allen’s first trip to the AFC Championship Game. In addition to this, he was named to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro second team, and he established new franchise marks for the Bills in terms of throwing yards and touchdowns in a single season.
Allen was the first quarterback in NFL history to have a touchdown-scoring drive on every offensive possession of a game. He did this while leading the Bills to their first division title since the franchise’s inception in 1991. The following season, Allen led the Bills to their second consecutive division title.
Early Years of Josh Allen’s Life
Allen spent his childhood on a cotton farm that was approximately 3,000 acres (1,200 ha) in size and was located close to Firebaugh, California, a tiny town that is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) west of Fresno, California. His great-grandfather, who arrived in the United States from Sweden in 1907, moved the family there during the Great Depression.
Since then, his family has lived there continuously. Allen’s grandfather on his father’s side started the farm where he grew up in 1975. His grandfather also served for a long time on the local school board and is honoured with the naming of the gymnasium at Firebaugh High School, from which Allen graduated in 2014. Allen’s farm is still in operation today.
Allen was a lifelong supporter of Fresno State University, and he was a regular at both games and football camps throughout his youth. He tried his best to pique the interest of the program’s coaching staff, and both he and his father made a pitch to the Bulldogs’ head coach at the time, Tim DeRuyter, but DeRuyter ultimately decided not to offer Allen a scholarship.
Allen did not receive any scholarship offers from any NCAA Division I program, whether they were competing in the top-level FBS or the second-tier FCS. DeRuyter was not the only person to come to this conclusion. Allen was presented with the opportunity to walk on at San Diego State, but he chose not to do so because Aztecs coach Rocky Long was unable to guarantee him any playing time.
In addition to participating in a number of sports while he was a student at Firebaugh High School, Allen was also a frequent worker on the family farm and at the restaurant that his mother owned and managed in the town.
Through his involvement with the Firebaugh High School chapter of the National FFA Organization, Allen was a member of the organisation. Allen has been honored with a number of accolades for his effort and understanding in the agricultural industry, including a position in the top four in the nation in diverse crop production of cantaloupe, cotton, and wheat in the year 2014.
College Experiences of Josh Allen Career
During his freshman year at Wyoming, he participated in two games and made one start throughout all of those contests. Because the injury occurred so early in the season, he was eligible for a medical redshirt despite the fact that he only completed one of the four passes he attempted during his first career start. The broken collarbone he suffered put an end to his season. After recovering from his injuries in 2016, Allen took over as Wyoming’s starting quarterback.

After throwing for more than 3,200 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2016, he thought about entering his name into the 2017 NFL Draft. He initially told his family, girlfriend, and a few friends that he would turn pro. However, he ultimately decided against entering the draft.
Shortly before the deadline to declare for the draft, Vigen called Allen’s father to explain why he should stay at Wyoming an extra year; according to Eisenberg, “When Joel Allen got off the phone and entered his son’s room, he found his son riddled with anxiety about his decision.” (When Joel Allen got off the phone and entered his son’s room, he found his son riddled with anxiety about his decision.)
Before the deadline for declaring for the draft, Bohl advised Allen that remaining in school for an additional year would be beneficial to his long-term NFL prospects. Allen also sought the counsel of Wentz, who informed him that once he entered the NFL, many league veterans would be depending on him to “win games and help secure their jobs.” In the end, Allen decided to remain in Wyoming. In 2017, he had a total passing yardage of 1812, with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Career Path for Josh Allen in the Professional World
Allen played on Sunday Night Football after the team had a bye week and led his team to a 27–17 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Allen threw for 218 yards, two touchdown passes, and two interceptions in the game. In Week 9’s game against the New York Jets, Allen rushed for two touchdowns and completed 18 of 34 pass attempts for 205 yards, but he also threw two interceptions as the team lost 17–20.
Allen suffered an elbow injury during that game that was similar to one he suffered during his rookie season. Despite this, he was able to start the following week against the Minnesota Vikings, where he threw for 330 yards and a touchdown, but also threw two interceptions, including the game-losing interception that was thrown to Patrick Peterson in the red zone during the 33–30 overtime loss.
The Bills decided to rely more on the run game in the following games against the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots, all of which they won. This decision was partially influenced by the fact that Allen’s elbow injury continued to bother him. On Thanksgiving Day, Allen led the Buffalo Bills to a victory over the Detroit Lions with a strong performance in the fourth quarter.
His highlights included a touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs for 36 yards that helped set up the game-winning field goal and a touchdown pass to retake the lead in the game. He finished the game with 253 yards passing, two touchdown passes, and one interception. In addition, he ran for 78 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground.
