A guest who attended a Florida wedding is now suing the caterer who she says served food laced with “toxic” marijuana.

Corresponding FoxNews, a lawsuit was filed Monday by Virginia Ann Taylor-Svobod. The woman says she sustained “serious, permanent” injuries after ingesting food from Joycelyn Bryant Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen Inc.

In the lawsuit, Taylor-Svobod alleges that she had no idea the meal that was served contained marijuana. As a result, she suffered from “marijuana poisoning.” And accuses Bryant of negligence and is seeking more than $30,000 in damages, as reported by New York Post.

(Bryant) knew or should have known that allowing the food served by (Joycelyn’s Southern Kitchen) to have marijuana infused with it was likely to result in injury and damage to wedding guests.

The wedding went from bliss to chaos

On February 19, deputies from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the wedding reception to find guests complaining about feeling “high.” According to TMz.NG, one guest told MPs he was so high he felt like he had “drugs in him”. The guest stated that he only consumed food and wine.

When officers arrived, the guests were already being treated by first responders, and some sick attendees were taken to the hospital.

What was set to be an event of bliss immediately turned to chaos when a guest told authorities he wanted to press charges against those responsible for tying his meal.

Samples of the food served were then sent to a laboratory for testing. Corresponding FoxNewsThe results showed that bread and lasagna tested positive for THC, an active ingredient in marijuana.

Bryant and the bride are both in hot water

In April, Bryant was charged with violating the Florida Anti-Tampering Act, supplying marijuana and culpable negligence. The bride also faces multiple charges, including food tampering and supplying marijuana.
