It’s been a miserable year of duds for Channel 10, including 10 News First: Breakfast, which recently set a new record for the worst-rated show in Australian television history.

Even the Melbourne Cup broadcast was a bombshell for the network.

Just over a million Tube viewers tuned in to see Gold Trip’s triumph at Flemington Racecourse – a record low for television coverage of the race that has brought the nation to a standstill.

This is the first time in a very long time that the popular soap opera has garnered more than 500,000 viewers, reports TV Blackbox.
