The International Esports Federation, in collaboration with the Monaco Esports Federation, is hosting the inaugural Sim Racing World Cup. Assetto Corsa, a racing simulation computer game created by the Italian company KUNOS-Simulazioni Srl, will be featured in the competition. This game is renowned for providing a realistic racing experience.
India’s representative at the inaugural Simulation Racing World Cup final will be Mohammed Ibrahim.
According to a press statement from the Esports Federation of India (ESFI), Ibrahim managed to place second in the Asian Continental Qualifiers with a lap time of 1:33.575. This was only a few seconds slower than Thanathip Tanalapanan of Thailand, who took first place with a time of 1:33.561.
Ibrahim’s entry into the first Sim Racing World Cup was thus guaranteed, and he finished fifth globally. Only Tanalapanan, David Toth of Hungary, Jernej Simonic, of Slovenia, and Pedro Sanchez, of Spain, qualified from of the European continent at times faster than Ibrahim, according to a news release from the ESFI.
Ibrahim said the following when discussing his enjoyment of the game and his playing:
“Since my childhood, Ive been fascinated with racing cars, which developed into a passion for motorsports. It is a surreal feeling to qualify for the grand final of the SRWC. I feel glad to have carried the momentum in the qualifiers after winning the NESC and hope to do so in Monaco as well. It is going to be a challenging experience to compete with the best sim racing drivers from all over the world.”
The other Indian driver competing in the qualifications, Davlish Singh, scored a sixth-place finish with a lap time of 1:34.026. 14 drivers from all around Asia competed in the qualifications for two spots in the final in October. The NESC22 (Simracing), the Indian National Qualifiers, were both won by Ibrahim and Davish.Ibrahim will be aiming to add to his amazing list of victories, which already includes the McLaren Logitech G Challenge, u. S. F4 Ker Championship, and the Ultimate E Championship, come October.
