However, there have been no official reports or comments from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) confirming the claims.
It states on the MDC site that Robert Sylvester Kelly, aka R Kelly, is still an inmate at the facility and no call-outs have been made for missing inmates. It seems Kelly remains firmly in his cell
R Kelly wrongly put on suicide watch
Kelly is certainly unhappy with his situation at the prison as the NME reports he has sued MDC Brooklyn for placing him under suicide watch.
Kellys lawyers have filed a lawsuit and temporary restraining order against the facility and warden Heriberto Tellez, alleging MDC has a policy of punishing high-profile inmates by placing them under suicide watch even though they are not suicidal, as per the music paper.
Kelly is said to be seeking compensation for emotional distress, humiliation, pain and suffering.
R Kellys lawyer Jennifer Bonjean told Forbes: Hes being irreparably harmed as we speak. Its not as if theyre doing this for his psychological benefit and, by placing him under these extremely harsh conditions, it is actually cruel and unusual punishment.

According to a new court filing, Tellez has lifted Kellys suicide watch in the wake of a clinical assessment.
TheFederal Bureau of Prisons said its psychology services staff perform psychological intake only on inmates who are suspected of being suicidal or appear psychologically unstable (eg, mental illness or significant substance abuse withdrawal), or who request services via the Psychology Services Inmate Questionnaire.
