Professor Turo first appeared in the second trailer for Pokemon Scarlet, uploaded on June 1st, 2022 to Youtube. By the end of that day, the trailer had almost 2 million views.
The trailer was released at 9 AM Eastern Standard Time. By 9:03 AM, Twitter user @maxisoffline had posted a picture (see below) of Professor Turo and his coworker Professor Sada from the trailer, celebrating the hotness of the two characters which received over 3,600 likes and 574 retweets within a day.
