Mexico Georgia School: A missing Georgia elementary school teacher was discovered dead in Mexico this week, according to numerous news sites. She was last seen on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Alexandra Morales, 24, worked as a first-grade teacher at Benefield Elementary School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and the school’s principal informed parents in a Tuesday email (obtained by WGCL, WXIA, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution) that Morales had not returned from a trip to Guadalajara, Mexico, as expected.

Yessica Ortero, a former classmate and friend, told WXIA, “[I] would never have guessed she’d be discovered dead. That’s something you don’t anticipate. She had been blogging about going to a concert, so I knew she was going. I’m not sure, I’m still stunned. You know, it’s a little depressing.”

Before She Was Found Dead

Morales had been working as a first-grade teacher at Benefield Elementary School since 2019.
