The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced that “Dancing With the Stars” finalist JoJo Siwa has joined actor/comedian Jack McBrayer (“30 Rock”) to host the first Children’s and Families -Emmy’s is.

In a press release, NATAS announced that Emmy nominee Jack McBrayer and Emmy nominee JoJo Siwa will host the first annual Children’s and Family Emmy Awards (CAFE) over the weekend of December 10th and 11th.

Siwa is hosting the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday, December 10 and McBrayer is hosting the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards on Sunday, December 11. Both awards will be held at the Wilshier Ebell Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Siwa, who is nominated for two CAFE Awards, said in a statement that she was “honoured” to be chosen to host the Creative Arts ceremony.

“I am honored to host the first-ever Children’s & Family Emmy Awards and to be nominated for both Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Live Action Program,” said Siwa. “It’s sure to be an entertaining evening with my girl group XOMG POP! Start the night off with a great performance!”

“I’m thrilled to host the inaugural Emmy Awards created specifically to honor the important and influential genre of children and families,” added McBrayer. “It is truly an honor to celebrate all of the individuals whose wonderful contributions remind us that great television can entertain, educate and bring people of all ages together.”

“We’re excited to recognize the fastest growing genre in television by kicking off the Children’s & Family Emmys with cultural powerhouses like Jack McBrayer and JoJo Siwa,” Adam Sharp, NATAS President and CEO, said in a statement. “Her undeniable energy and enthusiasm perfectly captures the tone that will set this ceremony and competition apart for years to come.”

As she said, Siwa is recognized for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Live Action Program for her work on the Paramount Plus show The J Team and for Outstanding Choreography for her work on the Peacock show Siwas Dance Pop Revolution nominated. this is also the show that her girl group XOMG POP! has produced.

Siwa came in second on season 30 of “Dancing With the Stars” alongside her partner Jenna Johnson. The two became the first same-sex couple to grace the dance competition series.

The Children’s & Family Emmys are a new awards show

Twenty-twenty-two marks the first year that the Emmy organization has established a standalone awards show since the inception of the Sports Emmys and News & Documentary Emmys in 1979. The Daytime Emmy Awards.

According to the CAFE Awards websiteChildren and family content is “the fastest growing genre awarded by NATAS, with a 23% increase in related programming over the past two years.”

When the first nominations were announced, Netflix led all organizations with 85 nominations, followed by the Disney/Disney Plus organization with 78, according to the NATAS press release.
