This position is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated applicant to be part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and the Academic and Student Affairs business team. We are looking for someone who can think innovatively and assist the unit to reach our goals. Manage and control the daily business and financial operations of a large work unit to ensure ongoing adherence with established policies and procedures. This position is intended to cover a broad range of responsibilities.

An ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines in a professional manner while working independently is essential for this position.

Working Environment

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting. Candidate must have visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; ability to bend, stop, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds. Works from general instructions on standard job duties and specific directions/instructions on new assignments. Ability to communicate to perform essential functions are required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and six (6) years of directly related administrative experience which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Ten (10) years of directly related administrative experience which includes three (3) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience creating and administering complex budgets.
  • Experience interpreting and applying ASU policy and procedures.
  • Ability to work with multiple funding sources.
  • Experience with ASU systems, including Adaptive planning, Workday, PeopleSoft, Kenexa BrassRing, Data Warehouse, Concur, Docuware, Docusign and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience preparing detailed financial reconciliations and expense tracking reports.
  • Experience providing financial and operational support in a higher education environment.

Grant Funded Position

This is not a grant funded position and is not contingent on future grant funding.



Essential Duties

  • Responsible for the entire budgeting process and management of financial processes.
  • Prepares budget projections and analyses based on the goals and priorities of the unit. Model budgets for new initiatives to be taken on in the unit
  • Utilizes data warehouse along with other systems to produces financial and administrative reports that reflect the health of the budget. Analyze revenue and spending trends utilizing multiple funding sources
  • Manages a variety of account expenditures, and budgets for various accounts including personal services, advise and/or determine which expenditures are within the budget guidelines; and informs management of irregularities and proceeds with corrective action
  • Manages P-Card program for the assigned area, reconciles P-Card transactions and maintains supporting documentation in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and plan for staffing, capital equipment/improvement, supplies and service requirements.
  • Makes recommendations to management concerning, disbursement of funds, and the resolution of budget concerns. Reviews requests and authorizes supplies, services, and equipment purchases within unit guidelines and in accordance with established policy and available budgetary funds
  • Supervises, hires, trains, and develops assigned staff.
  • Participates in internal and external audits by responding to requests for presentation of supporting files, documents, and other associated media from external and/or internal audit staff.
  • Manages facility staff and oversees space utilization, and coordinate renovation/remodeling projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the continuity of department operations and to meet customer service needs.

Salary Range

$56,160 – $86,400 per year; DOE
