David Seaman has admitted that he would absolutely love Cristiano Ronaldo at Arsenal.

The iconic 37-year-old is officially a free agent after being released by Manchester United this week.

Ronaldo gave an explosive interview to Piers Morgan earlier in November in a move which prompted the Red Devils to terminate his contract on Tuesday.

Seaman, who won a number of Premier League titles at Arsenal, has called on his former club to snap up the free agent, revealing that Piers Morgan is in the same boat as him regarding the Portugal international.

He told the Seaman Says podcast: “Speaking of Ronaldo, I was sat next to Piers Morgan last night and the news [of his release] came through on his phone and he’s like, ‘Look! Look! Look what’s happened!’ He got a smug look on his face and he showed me a picture of [when] he presented Ronaldo with an Arsenal shirt with a number seven on the back. He looked at me and went, ‘Now for phase two. Let’s get him to Arsenal’. I would take him anyday.”

Cristiano Ronaldo to Arsenal?

In a word, no. Absolutely not.

Mikel Arteta’s side are top of the Premier League standings and Ronaldo’s dismissal by United effectively stems from not reacting well to being a bit-part player.

The Gunners manager wouldn’t tolerate the idea of Ronaldo – signed for £20 million in 2021 [The Guardian] – being signed even for a second.

The Spaniard is building something too exciting in North London for it to be poisoned by any one player.

Phenomenal as Ronaldo is, there’s an element of toxicity to him if he isn’t getting his own away and suffice to say that this is not a personality that Arsenal need right now – or in the future.
