The Burnsville Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment complex Saturday morning that has sent two people to the hospital, the City of Burnsville says.

Firefighters went to Parkvue Flats Apartments on Burnsville Parkway for a report of a fire around 8:49 a.m.

Crews evacuated residents and are treating some for injuries at the scene.

Two people were taken to the hospital for their injuries, although a city spokesperson says no information is currently available about the severity of those injuries.

Firefighters extinguished the structure fire and are still ventilating the building, as of a press release issued at 10:41 a.m.

Responders are investigating the cause of the fire.

Crews are still working their way through the building to assess the number of units affected, the spokesperson said.
